Clause 500.211 — Student — primary criteria (time of decision)
The applicant must, at the time of decision:
(a) be enrolled in a registered course at a registered provider, as evidenced by a current Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) issued in accordance with the ESOS Act;
(b) satisfy the genuine student criterion — be a genuine student intending to undertake a genuine course of study and who will comply with the visa conditions;
(c) have adequate English language proficiency for the course enrolled (as specified in the applicable legislative instrument);
(d) have adequate funds to meet the costs of the course and living expenses while in Australia;
(e) satisfy health (PIC 4005) and character (PIC 4001) criteria;
(f) be of an age that is appropriate for the course enrolled (or have adequate arrangements for their welfare and accommodation if under 18).
